Philippians 1:21 (NKJV) 21 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.<\/p>\n

This verse carries so much weight once we \u201cget it\u201d.<\/p>\n

Many believers will not understand this verse until many years into their walk with Christ.<\/p>\n

But length of time is irrelevant.<\/p>\n

It is the strength of our walk that lies at the heart of understanding. A believer who grows rapidly will understand this more quickly than someone who grows at a slower pace.<\/p>\n

And sometimes it simply requires a person to bring it to our attention for us to be pricked by the Spirit of God and prompted to consider its implications.<\/p>\n

You see, our walk with God is not (should not) be a mundane endeavor whereby we simply go through the motions, repeating specific steps each day.<\/p>\n

It is intended to be alive and vibrant, growing over time and drawing us nearer to Him with each passing day.<\/p>\n

It is when we approach our relationship with Him with such fervor that we begin to understand the truth of the verse above, and we then experience personally. That is when \u201cthe lightbulb goes on\u201d for us and we get it!<\/p>\n

When our walk with God has matured to this point, we begin to live out this concept of \u201cto live is Christ, and to die is gain\u201d, as Paul penned the words.<\/p>\n

There comes a time in our lives when we no longer hold so tightly to the things and the ways of the world, and we begin to focus more intently on the things of God and the redemption that Jesus paid so dearly to provide for us, that we may be grafted into the True Vine that gives us life.<\/p>\n

Father, help us to long for you with every fiber of our being, that we may walk out the words of Paul and bring glory to your name.<\/p>\n
