Ecclesiastes 3:2 (NKJV) 2 A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted;<\/p>\n

Most of us think very little about the brevity of our lives; the limited time we have here on earth in this human skin.<\/p>\n

It is natural for us not<\/i> to think about because we are busy living.<\/p>\n

We do<\/i> need to think about this from time to time, however, because doing so helps us to put things into perspective and keep our priorities straight.<\/p>\n

This should not be considered a morbid topic. It should not be something that we fear to speak about or discuss with others.<\/p>\n

Death is a fact of life. Ignoring it will not make it go away.<\/p>\n

David expressed this well in the following Psalm.<\/p>\n

Psalm 39:4-5 (NKJV) 4 \u201cLord, make me to know my end, And what is the measure of my days, That I may know how frail I am. 5 Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my age is as nothing before You; Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor. Selah<\/p>\n

Our lives are nothing more than a vapor, a short span of time, and then we are gone.<\/p>\n

So, considering this, we should make it a point to weigh our lives and use what we see to make adjustments that give our lives more purpose and more meaning.<\/p>\n

What do our priorities look like?<\/p>\n

Do we spend our time in ways that impact others for the kingdom of God?<\/p>\n

Do we put God above all else?<\/p>\n

Are we grateful to God for what He has blessed us with?<\/p>\n

These three questions can shape (or re-shape) our lives if we take them seriously.<\/p>\n

The question is, do we?<\/p>\n

This may be very sobering for many of us. But that should not cause us to ignore it. On the contrary, we need to consider it.<\/p>\n

Let today be the day that we ask ourselves what our legacy here will be when we are gone.<\/p>\n

How will we be remembered? But more importantly, what impact will our life have for God\u2019s kingdom?<\/p>\n

That is the question for us all to consider.<\/p>\n
