John 10:27 (NKJV) 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me<\/span>.<\/p>\n

This verse contains a simple statement that is much more powerful than most of us understand.<\/p>\n

We often hear people speak of accepting Jesus as our savior. We are frequently encouraged to do that by those who want to see us saved from eternity in hell.<\/p>\n

But there is much more to this than being saved from hell. There is a deeper side to this than many fail to share.<\/p>\n

For us to understand the depth of this verse, we must also look at other verses.<\/p>\n

Acts 16:30-31 (NKJV) 30 And he brought them out and said, \u201cSirs, what must I do to be saved?\u201d 31 So they said, \u201cBelieve on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.\u201d<\/p>\n

In this verse, Paul and Silas told the man that he must \u201cBelieve on the Lord Jesus Christ\u201d to be saved.<\/p>\n

This verse is often taken at its simplest meaning, leaving behind what is actually being implied.<\/p>\n

To \u201cbelieve on the Lord Jesus Christ\u201d does not simply mean to believe that He exists. Even demons believe and tremble (James 2:19).<\/p>\n

It implies a deep faith; a trust that causes us not just to acknowledge that He is, but to follow Him with our lives, entrusting every aspect of them to Him.<\/p>\n

We place our hope for this life and eternity fully in Him!<\/p>\n

Christianity was never meant to be casual. It is akin to a marriage relationship, lifelong and ever growing.<\/p>\n

It’s easy to say that we have \u201caccepted Him as our savior.\u201d It’s yet another thing to walk it out and commit our life to Him in all things.<\/p>\n

And the litmus test for our \u201cfaith in Christ\u201d will come when we stand before God on the last day.<\/p>\n

When that moment comes, will He say, \u201cwell done my good and faithful servant\u201d? Or will He say, \u201cdepart from me, I never knew you\u201d?<\/p>\n

The time to find out is not in that moment when we are face to face with Him. That time is now, while we have breath in our lungs and a beat in our hearts.<\/p>\n

Let us not simply believe that He is. But let us follow Him wholeheartedly, with every fiber of our being, that we hear His voice, and He knows us.<\/p>\n
