Psalm 23:4 (LSB) 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.<\/p>\n

This verse can teach us a lot about handling times and seasons in our lives when the road we\u2019re traveling gets hard.<\/p>\n

How we handle those hard times tells us a lot about ourselves.<\/p>\n

We get angry, annoyed, and frustrated.<\/p>\n

Or maybe we feel sorry for ourselves, wallowing in self-pity and convincing ourselves that we don\u2019t deserve what we\u2019re suffering through.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve all been guilty of this at one time or another in our lives. It\u2019s OK to admit it.<\/p>\n

One thing is clear, based on the verse above; we cannot always expect God to immediately deliver us from these kinds of difficult situations.<\/p>\n

So, instead of focusing on the negative aspects of the trial we\u2019re up against, we should push forward and allow God to comfort us as we \u201cwalk through the dark valley\u201d that we are currently in.<\/p>\n

A time will come when we are past the situation, and then we can rest.<\/p>\n

But in the middle of a difficult trial is not that time.<\/p>\n

These are the times when we must seek God and get His direction as to the best way to navigate this. We need His wisdom, insights, and His strength to sustain us and bring us through to the other side.<\/p>\n

This requires sacrifice on our part. And it requires hard work, perseverance, and fortitude.<\/p>\n

We were never promised that our lives would be easy because we follow Jesus.<\/p>\n

On the contrary, Jesus told us that trials and tribulations would come. But that we should have courage to face them because He has already overcome the world!<\/p>\n

John 16:33 (LSB) 33 These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n

So, let us not spend our time wallowing in our self-pity. But let us set our faces like a flint, and when we have done all we can to stand, let us stand even stronger.<\/p>\n
