1 Corinthians 12:28 (NKJV) 28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.<\/p>\n

And God has appointed these in the church.<\/p>\n

But today, let’s look at one that is probably the least desired; the gift that everyone wants to leave for others to do.<\/p>\n

Helps.<\/p>\n

This gift has been given to the church. How do we walk in such a gift? By the leading of the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n

He will guide us in our gift of helps. He will guide us as to who to help, when to help, and how to help.<\/p>\n

This gift is crucial and frequently overlooked. There are so many who are suffering and hurting in this world. Help is needed everywhere, in every place, and at any moment.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s needed to be functioning within, and outside of, the church.<\/p>\n

How do we help?<\/p>\n

Luke 10:33-35 (NKJV) 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. 34 So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, \u2018Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you<\/span>.\u2019<\/p>\n

This is a perfect example of the gift of helps.<\/p>\n

When we see a need, we must see through the eyes of Jesus and let Him move us with His compassion.<\/p>\n

Then we cry out to Him for guidance as to how to help. We care for them in the way that the Holy Spirit guides us. We go the extra mile. We don\u2019t think about it; we just do what He leads us to do in that moment.<\/p>\n

His guidance in the gift of helps is very much needed and will keep us balanced in all that we do. Remember that as we do whatever it is, it is all for the glory of God!<\/p>\n
