Matthew 23:11 (NKJV) 11 But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant<\/span>,<\/p>\n

True greatness is measured in terms of serving.<\/p>\n

Jesus provided the highest standard of service in His death on the cross.<\/p>\n

As we follow Christ and allow Him to change our hearts, we will find ourselves serving others more than usual.<\/p>\n

Servanthood will become part of our very nature.<\/p>\n

Serving others is not something to be ashamed of. It is the very thing that Jesus did for us.<\/p>\n

When Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, came to earth, He took on the form of a bondservant.<\/p>\n

Philippians 2:6-7 (NKJV) 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.<\/p>\n

A bondservant is someone who makes a voluntary, lifelong commitment to another’s will, choosing<\/strong><\/i> to remain with them out of love, loyalty, and devotion. Such is Christ’s relationship with His Father.<\/p>\n

The closer we get to Christ, the more we are willing to take on such a commitment. Servanthood will take over. And it will be an honor to serve God and whoever He puts in our path.<\/p>\n

The closer we get to Christ, the more the servant’s heart will grow in us.<\/p>\n

Amen.<\/p>\n
