It signifies that the penalty for our sin (which is death) has been fully discharged. We are no longer bound by it.

Aphesis represents the state of remission (or release) from that debt. It has been paid in full on your behalf by Someone else who did not incur the debt (in this case, God).

Our past sin is not overlooked. It is sent away, removed from us through the blood of Christ that was shed on the cross.

Because of a repentant heart, we turn away from our old ways.

We begin to see the world through a different lens, leaning more toward God and less toward the things of the world that once enslaved us.

By now we should be starting to see a clearer picture of the 5 components of salvation.

We experience and/or become aware of God’s grace and mercy toward us. This realization or discovery causes us to be remorseful for our sins and repent. Repentance opens the door to forgiveness. And forgiveness sets us free from the debt of our sins.

Tomorrow, let’s discuss the final component of this; redemption.

Thank you for reading.

Pastor Curt & Pastor Ellie

Seven Seas Ministries
49 N Lamplighters Walk
Hampstead, NC 28443

401-439-3780

If you know someone who will enjoy this or be encouraged by it, please feel free to share it with them!

To have the Bible Verse of The Day delivered to your inbox each day, please Click Here and then enter your email address in the box near the upper left corner of the page.

Please consider making a Donation.

Ephesians 1:7 (AMPC) 7 In Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor, Welcome back!
