John 15:4 (LSB) 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit from itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me<\/span>.<\/p>\n

In chapter 15 of the book of John, Jesus shares something with the disciples that we all need to see, comprehend, and receive on a personal level.<\/p>\n

It is critically important for each of us to understand this.<\/p>\n

In the verse above, Jesus begins teaching His disciples about the importance of \u201cbearing fruit\u201d.<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t simply mention it casually and move on. He expounded on it thoroughly, being sure they understood it.<\/p>\n

We must understand it also.<\/p>\n

In John 15 alone, Jesus used the phrase \u201cbear fruit\u201d at least 8 times.<\/p>\n

Again, His repeated emphasis on this phrase should cause us to pay close attention<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

And as we study this, it becomes clear that bearing fruit is an essential part of what God desires for our lives. Check out what else Jesus said about it.<\/p>\n

John 15:2 (LSB) 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He cleans it so that it may bear more fruit<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The Amplified Bible states it this way:<\/p>\n

John 15:2 (AMPC) 2 Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit.<\/span><\/p>\n

God \u201ctakes away\u201d (trims, removes) any branch that does not bear (stops bearing) fruit.<\/p>\n

For those who bear fruit, He cleanses and prunes them repeatedly so they may bear more fruit!<\/p>\n

By now we should be beginning to see and understand the importance of bearing fruit!<\/p>\n

And it is safe to say, that if we look closely at everything that Jesus said about it, bearing fruit should be the goal of every child of God.<\/p>\n

Further, it is our God-intended purpose in life.<\/p>\n

So, if we have been searching for or wondering about our purpose, we have found it \ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffb<\/p>\n
