2 Corinthians 5:9 (LSB) 9 Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.<\/p>\n

Many of us forget, or maybe have never really considered, the fact that our lives here are just a sort of preamble to what\u2019s yet to come; eternity in God\u2019s presence.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy for us to get caught up in the here and now, so focused on earthly concerns and obligations that we lose sight of our eternal purpose.<\/p>\n

Life is busy. Distractions are many.<\/p>\n

And sometimes that makes it easy to lose sight of what\u2019s important in the big scheme of things.<\/p>\n

But this verse tells us plainly that our goal (ambition) should be to please Him, whether we\u2019re at home (here in our bodies), or absent (in His presence for eternity).<\/p>\n

We are all guilty of overcomplicating this.<\/p>\n

Sometimes we make excuses. Other times, we just get caught up in life\u2019s concerns and get off track.<\/p>\n

But consider this a challenge today to hold onto what\u2019s important and keep our priorities in line, always giving God preeminence, making pleasing HIM the focus<\/strong> of everything we do.<\/p>\n

This is not spiritually deep, but critically important and worth our time and attention.<\/p>\n

So, for those of us who may have forgotten, or somehow gotten off track, today is a good day to correct our course.<\/p>\n
