Matthew 5:14-16 (NKJV) 14 \u201cYou are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven<\/span>.<\/p>\n

God has given us all something to do while we are here, and that is to shine His light in the place where He has brought us into.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not always easy, is it?<\/p>\n

It takes a lot of discipline to walk this out. It takes a lot of focus and sacrifice. It takes listening to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, and moving when necessary.<\/p>\n

One day last week, I was sitting outside a coffee shop while Pastor Curt went in to grab our drinks.<\/p>\n

As I was sitting there in the car, I heard “go talk to that lady”.<\/p>\n

There was a woman sitting outside, on the patio. I have seen her there other times but had never spoken to her. She is usually there alone.<\/p>\n

My first reaction when I heard this was, “no that\u2019s not God.”<\/p>\n

Then my second reaction was, “I don\u2019t want to embarrass her”. I will admit that I could come up with a million excuses about why I shouldn\u2019t go over to her.<\/p>\n

But, no matter how many excuses I had, the prompting did not leave me.<\/p>\n

So, I quickly got out of the car and walked up to her. She was just sitting at the table, reading her book.<\/p>\n

I had no idea what I was going to say.<\/p>\n

As I approached her, I said, \u201chi!\u201d She replied, \u201chello”. I said, \u201cI was just sitting in my car waiting on my husband to come out with our drinks, and God spoke to me”.<\/p>\n

“He wanted me to come over to you and tell you you’re beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Well, her eyes lit up. And I said, \u201cHe told me to tell you, \u201cHe loves you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her face said it all. I knew I was done. She said to me, \u201cthank you\u201d. I told her \u201cyou\u2019re welcome, have a nice day.\u201d She replied, \u201dyou too!\u201d<\/p>\n

I quickly walked back to my car, got inside, and I was shaking.<\/p>\n

I was like, “phew, that\u2019s over”.<\/p>\n

After I calmed down, I thought about it. I have no idea why God used me at that very moment to say these words to her. And I may never know.<\/p>\n

But what I do <\/i>know is I am so happy to be a part of what God wanted for that short time.<\/p>\n

If anything, I hope for one second she thought about God and His love for her! It would make it all worth it.<\/p>\n

What is God asking you to do today? Do it!<\/p>\n

Yes, we may have to endure a short moment of discomfort, and we may be afraid at times.<\/p>\n

But whatever you do, don’t be hiding all that LIGHT inside of you.<\/p>\n

God is calling us to step out and let His light shine in the darkness!<\/p>\n
