Matthew 1:23 (NKJV) 23 \u201cBehold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,\u201d which is translated, \u201cGod with us.\u201d<\/p>\n

I always get so excited and am in awe when I read this passage.<\/p>\n

A virgin with child; only God can do this!<\/p>\n

The conception and birth of Christ showed us the Father’s marvelous work right from the start, because we all know a virgin cannot become pregnant without having physical intimacy with a man.<\/p>\n

And Mary had not yet “known” her husband at this point in her life.<\/p>\n

As a matter of fact, when she told Joseph, whom she was betrothed to, he wanted to have her put away silently; end their marriage arrangement.<\/p>\n

Matthew 1:19 (NKJV) 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.<\/p>\n

That had to have been extremely difficult. It was definitely \u00a0something that they both had to work through<\/p>\n

But, thank God for His plan!<\/p>\n

He had an angel speak to Joseph and let him know it was OK to be with Mary; that the child she was carrying was of the Holy Spirit, and that He would save His people from their sins.<\/p>\n

Matthew 1:20 (NKJV) 20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, \u201cJoseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n

Can you Imagine hearing something so powerful, and being a part of it? Wow!<\/p>\n

Mary and Joseph weren\u2019t anyone special in human terms. They had no special qualifications, etc. But God used them for a purpose.<\/p>\n

God will use others to walk out His plan and purpose as well!<\/p>\n

Will we be ready for Him, to be a part of what He wants to do?<\/p>\n

Mary and Joseph may have been caught off guard at first. And they had to work through some things.<\/p>\n

But the important thing is that they both loved God and they walked out their parts in His plan, letting Him unfold it according to His purpose.<\/p>\n

Romans 8:28 (NKJV) 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.<\/p>\n
