1 Corinthians 12:28 (NKJV) 28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.<\/p>\n

God appointed all this in the church:<\/p>\n

Apostles- An official messenger, or an ambassador. One who is sent by God.<\/p>\n

Prophets \u2013 They share divine revelation.<\/p>\n

Teachers \u2013 Tasked with accurately explaining scripture to help believers grow in wisdom, knowledge and sound doctrine.<\/p>\n

Miracles \u2013 Acts of God; something extraordinary that takes place that can\u2019t be explained by natural or scientific laws.<\/p>\n

Healings \u2013 Curing blindness, paralysis, raising the dead, recovery from life-threatening diseases, etc.<\/p>\n

Helps \u2013 divine rescue, daily support, human kindness, and care for each other.<\/p>\n

Administrations \u2013 Keeping things organized and running smoothly.<\/p>\n

Varieties of Tongues \u2013 prophetic\/congregational tongue \u2013 heavenly language spoken publicly in a church setting, needing a second believer with the gift of interpretation to translate the message.<\/p>\n

Intercessory Tongue \u2013 when someone does not know what to pray, the Holy Spirit intercedes and prays through them.<\/p>\n

Personal prayer tongue \u2013 A private prayer language used to edify the individual believer.<\/p>\n

Sign tongues- where a person will speak a language they never studied in order for an unbeliever to hear the gospel preached in their own native tongue.<\/p>\n

These gifts that have been appointed by God were given to build up the church, create unity, and to help us mature in our faith.<\/p>\n

1 Corinthians 12:7 (NKJV) 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:<\/p>\n

God, help us today to walk in the appointed gifts that You have blessed us with.<\/p>\n

Amen.<\/p>\n
