Ephesians 4:31-32 (LSB) 31 Let all bitterness and anger and wrath and shouting and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 Instead, be kind to one another, tender-hearted, graciously forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has graciously forgiven you.<\/p>\n

In all the deep mysteries found within God’s word, there are also many bits of simplicity that we may often overlook while seeking depth.<\/p>\n

The act of being kind is one of them.<\/p>\n

Kindness may not seem deep. It may not seem spiritually significant at a quick glance.<\/p>\n

But it is!<\/p>\n

Our actions, and the way we treat others, reflects who God is.<\/p>\n

We have chosen to become His child. And because of this, His Spirit dwells within us, leading and guiding us.<\/p>\n

Our part of this is simple; obey His leading!<\/p>\n

Sometimes it can be easy to miss this in the heat of a tense moment.<\/p>\n

Anger can take over if we allow it to, and we fail to hear God’s voice telling us to let Him lead our words and our actions.<\/p>\n

But obeying Him is what He tells us to do!<\/p>\n

So, in all the anger and bitterness we see in the world today, let us practice kindness. Let us exercise restraint, and shine God’s light in the darkness, choosing the high road.<\/p>\n

It’s what Jesus has told us to do.<\/p>\n
