(Luke 7:14-16 NKJV)\u00a0 Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” {15} So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother. {16} Then fear came upon all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has risen up among us”; and, “God has visited His people.”<\/p>\n
“Then fear came upon all”.<\/p>\n
How many of us fear God? I’m not talking about the kind of fear that you have when you’re scared of someone hurting you. I’m referring to a healthy fear… the kind of fear that you have out of respect for someone.<\/p>\n
Jesus was the perfect example of God’s amazing, unconditional love. But yet He caused the fear of God to fall on people when they saw his miracles.<\/p>\n
Sadly, too few people fear God today. The reverent fear that we should have has been replaced with sugar-coated messages that try hard not to offend people or hurt their feelings.<\/p>\n
God is<\/i> love. But He is also pure and holy and worthy of our reverent fear. Without reverence and fear, we are taking God for less than who He really is.<\/p>\n
We need to love God with our whole hearts. And when we do that, we will be gin to understand that we also need to fear God in a healthy, reverent way.<\/p>\n
