(Proverbs 22:15 NKJV)\u00a0 Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of correction will drive it far from him.<\/p>\n
Children can do some foolish things sometimes. It’s just in their nature.<\/p>\n
As parents, it’s our responsibility to teach them and give them direction and discipline.<\/p>\n
God’s word says that the rod of correction will drive foolishness far from them!<\/p>\n
You see, children need discipline. It’s a fact. They need to know that Mom and Dad are in charge. Mom and Dad are the boss!<\/p>\n
Sadly, today’s society in many countries has changed to the point where it’s not acceptable to discipline children. Parents today are taught that they should be their child’s best friend. Discipline is out. Reasoning and explanations are in.<\/p>\n
This is not they way God says it should be done. Just as God disciplines us, His children, we also need to follow God’s word and do the same for our children.<\/p>\n
The key in this is to do it with LOVE! Love conquers all and it’s love that opens the hearts of our children and makes it easier for them to listen to us, even when they’re being corrected.<\/p>\n
So don’t ever be afraid to be a parent to your children first, and a friend to them second.<\/p>\n
God’s word never fails.<\/p>\n
