(Mat 17:19-21 NKJV)\u00a0 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” {20} So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. {21} “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”<\/p>\n
There are times when we can do something easily\u2026 using only the knowledge that we have.<\/p>\n
But there are times when there\u2019s something that we need to do and it requires more preparation, such as prayer and fasting.<\/p>\n
The disciples had tried to cast a demon out of a man but it refused to leave, despite their best efforts. This bewildered them and they questioned Jesus about it. He explained it to them by telling them that they didn\u2019t have the faith needed to accomplish this task.<\/p>\n
Prayer and fasting helps to strengthen our faith. It helps us to believe God and take Him at His word. It helps us to hear God and know His will.<\/p>\n
If there is something in your life that needs to be moved or changed, or maybe there is a stronghold that needs to be broken, don\u2019t try to do it on your own. Our own understanding isn\u2019t always enough.<\/p>\n
We need to pray and seek God and we might even need to fast, in order to have the spiritual strength that we need to get the job done.<\/p>\n
Some things don\u2019t come easy. But God gives us the tools and the weapons we need to get the job done and win the battle before us.<\/p>\n
