John 15:5 (NKJV) “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”<\/p>\n
Without Him, we can do nothing.<\/p>\n
As a follow-up to yesterday’s Bible Verse of The Day, we’d like to use this scripture to complete what was said about us needing to be broken before God before He can use us.<\/p>\n
Sometimes this is misunderstood by people or it doesn’t come across in the right way, so here’s a little more for you to take in.<\/p>\n
Jesus said that we are to abide in Him and that if we do, we will bear much fruit. He went on to say that if we don’t abide in Him, we can do nothing (for the kingdom of God).<\/p>\n
This isn’t any kind of deep spiritual metaphor or symbolism. It’s pretty straight forward with what it says and what it means. If we abide (remain) in Him, we can be used mightily by God. If we don’t, then we can’t be used to a great degree.<\/p>\n
In yet another scripture, God’s word tells us that we can do all things through Christ. Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.<\/b><\/p>\n
So as we abide in Him, he empowers us and strengthens us to do the works of the kingdom and bring glory to the Father.<\/p>\n
So it’s important that we learn to humble ourselves before Him, confess our sins to Him and then ask Him to work in us to make us who He<\/i> wants us to be, not who we<\/i> want to be.<\/p>\n
