Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV) 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.<\/p>\n
Salvation is given to us as a free gift, through God’s grace.<\/p>\n
This grace is also something that we cannot earn or work for, no matter how hard we might try.<\/p>\n
I love the fact that God puts every, single one of us on a level playing field, by eliminating “the favor factor”. He doesn’t view what you’ve done as worse than what I’ve done or what I’ve done as worse than what you’ve done!<\/p>\n
We are equal in God’s eyes. Period.<\/p>\n
Some of us struggle with this, trying so hard to earn God’s grace and favor. But we need to realize that everything we need with regard to God’s grace was already paid for on the cross.<\/p>\n
It doesn’t matter if you’re a new Christian or if you’ve been saved for most of your life, or even if you’re searching for God and don’t know anything about Him, God’s grace is freely given to each of us.<\/p>\n
So stop struggling, trying to work hard to earn what God has already freely given. All the hard work in the world won’t get more grace for you.<\/p>\n
Dropping our pride and kneeling at the feet of God in complete humility, repentance and reverence is what He truly wants from us.<\/p>\n
