2 Timothy 3:1-5 (NKJV) But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!<\/p>\n
Wow. God knew what was coming and warned us about it well in advance!<\/p>\n
I’m in my 50s and I have to tell you that the world has changed drastically since I was a child. Every kind of crime you can think of has increased by huge percentages.<\/p>\n
It doesn’t matter whether you talk about murder, adultery, fornication, thievery, arrogance, lust, haughtiness, or whatever it is, it has gotten extremely bad during the last 25 years. And it’s not going to get any better!<\/p>\n
God has told us that this will be so. He has forewarned us about all of it.<\/p>\n
But He has also told us and taught us how to keep ourselves from falling prey to this and becoming like this in our own lives.<\/p>\n
We need to stay close to Him and listen closely to His voice. He gives us everything we need to resist evil and protect ourselves from it.<\/p>\n
God is faithful to teach us and to speak to us. Let’s be diligent and do our part to follow His leading.<\/p>\n
