1 Corinthians 13:11(NKJV) 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.<\/p>\n
We can not stay babies forever. There comes a time when we need to mature and grow in the things of God. Just as a little child grows up and changes the way he\/she does things, so do we mature and grow up in the things of God.<\/p>\n
How do we mature in the things of God? One way is by holding our tongue when everything in us wants to talk. This works that muscle of maturity.<\/p>\n
Then there may be times when we need to do the opposite, we need to speak up and say something even when we don’t want to or like what we have to say.<\/p>\n
There have\u00a0been times when God has shown us some things and it was so good, but we couldn’t say a word to anyone about it. We had to hold it and pray.\u00a0We had to keep it between us and God.<\/p>\n
When God gives us\u00a0eyes to see things it does not mean we run with it. Maturity\u00a0causes us to run to Him and say “what do you want us to do with it Lord?”, and then wait for His leading or His promptings.<\/p>\n
Holding back at times when God shows us things and being still can be the hardest thing to do, but that is a big part of maturing and we will learn\u00a0to wait on God’s leading as we grow in Christ.<\/p>\n
