Deuteronomy 6:5 (NKJV) 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.<\/p>\n
I was talking with God last night. In fact, He was doing more of the talking and I was listening.\u00a0But I did have questions for Him, and He provided me with answers. So I’d like to share some of that with you today.<\/p>\n
As He spoke to my spirit (not an audible voice), He shared with me that everything about our lives comes back around to one simple principle; One simple truth. And that truth is stated in the scripture above.<\/p>\n
Love the Lord your God with all your heart.<\/b><\/p>\n
Everything we do in our lives is based on our love (or lack of love) for Him.<\/p>\n
He shared with me that the sin in this world takes place because of a lack of love for Him or a weak love for Him.<\/p>\n
Murder, terrorism, adultery, drunkenness, strife, envy, jealousy and many more such sins happen because of either a lack of love for Him, or a love that’s watered down or weak.<\/p>\n
Our hearts dictate the direction of our lives. So if our hearts aren’t sold out to God, it will be reflected in our lives and the choices that we make.<\/p>\n
Hearts that long after God and want to please Him in everything will make sound choices more often than those hearts that are lukewarm for God. Hearts that aren’t<\/i>\u00a0sold out to Him will, likewise, make choices and decisions that don’t always reflect God or put God first.<\/p>\n
As He shared this with me, He also told me that this isn’t something that’s being shared to condemn people, but to give people a better understanding. A lack of understanding can bring destruction. But having <\/i>understanding can open our eyes to things we would not otherwise be able to see.<\/p>\n
Hosea 4:6 (NKJV) 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…<\/p>\n
So, people of God, let’s sincerely check our hearts and let God show us where we’re really<\/i>\u00a0at. Do we love Him with our whole heart? Or do we only give Him a small piece of it, hoping to keep some for ourselves?<\/p>\n
Love Him with all your heart today.<\/p>\n
