Matthew 27:40 (NKJV) 40 and saying, \u201cYou who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.\u201d<\/p>\n
They say, “Save yourself”?, “Come down from the cross”?<\/p>\n
They were completely oblivious to what was going on. “They” did not believe in Him. They were spiritually dead. Who are “They”?<\/p>\n
They were people that passed by, also Chief Priests, scribes and elders.<\/p>\n
Jesus did not need to save Himself. He was the Savior!! He had a much bigger plan. He came to save the world, He came to save you and I. Dying on the cross was part of that plan.<\/p>\n
Through His death on the cross, He gave every one of us a chance to become sons and daughters of God and to have eternal life with Him.<\/p>\n
Our<\/em> part is to repent of our sins and put our faith in Him.<\/p>\n We do this by telling Him we are sorry for the wrong things we have done in our lives. Then we turn from those wrong things, meaning we don’t continue to do them over and over again. Then, we put our faith in Him. That just simply means we believe that He is who He says He is; the Son of God.
