Matthew 1:23 (NKJV) 23 \u201cBehold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,\u201d which is translated, \u201cGod with us.\u201d<\/p>\n
God with us.<\/p>\n
Those three words change everything\u00a0for those who understand them.<\/p>\n
We’ve taught on this before, but it’s always good to touch on important things again once in a while.<\/p>\n
The word could have said “God is with us”. But it didn’t. It said “God with us”. There is a vast difference between those two phrases, but many people don’t realize the difference, so let’s take a look at it for a moment.<\/p>\n
You see, the name Immanuel literally means “God with us”, not “God is with us”.<\/p>\n
Saying God is with us is a very general statement that could be taken many different ways.<\/p>\n
But saying God with us literally means that Jesus is God, with us.<\/p>\n
He is God and He is with us.<\/p>\n
God is here, with us. He is among us, living with us, dwelling with us and spending time with us, in person.<\/p>\n
God with us. Do you see it?<\/p>\n
So as you begin to see the reality and the scope of this, it brings a whole new meaning to that phrase and to why He was called Immanuel.<\/p>\n
It takes the notion of God being a distant entity somewhere out there in the universe, and destroys it. It shows us that God chose to come to earth in the form of a man and live among us. Hence, God, with us.<\/p>\n
Ponder on this for a bit and try to let it sink in. And then praise Him for the reality of the fact that He did<\/i>\u00a0come and dwell with us.<\/p>\n
He is God, with us!<\/p>\n
