Ecclesiastes 1:14 (NKJV) 14 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and indeed, all is vanity and grasping for the wind.<\/p>\n
As human beings, men and women, we tend to look at things from a human perspective.<\/p>\n
We set human goals, have human desires and judge things, and people, by human standards. And with these standards, we gauge\u00a0success or failure.<\/p>\n
Obviously, our natural tendency will be to do this, since we are <\/i>created from flesh and bone. But, as children of God, we need to learn not <\/i>to always look at things from a human perspective, but from a spiritual point of view.<\/p>\n
Our success and failures should be determined by God’s<\/i> standards and based on spiritual principles to be measured properly.<\/p>\n
A high-paying corporate job, a fancy home, an expensive car, truck or boat, good standing in the community, a retirement fund bulging with cash and other similar things are the normal <\/i>standard by which we measure success.<\/p>\n
But we’re here to tell you today that this is not the way we should view ourselves<\/i>.<\/p>\n
Everything that we amass while we’re here on this earth is of no value when we’re gone, unless <\/i>it is for the kingdom of God. It is there<\/i> that we need to be storing up our treasures, in heaven.<\/p>\n
King Solomon was the richest man who ever lived. The wealth he possessed would make our modern-day billionaires look like paupers in comparison.<\/p>\n
But when Solomon had experienced everything and lived a life of plenty, what did he say?<\/p>\n
“All is vanity and grasping for the wind.”<\/p>\n
You see, without God we are nothing. We are powerless and our lives hold no real meaning.<\/p>\n
God created us and breathed life into us. It is because of Him that we even exist to begin with. So to try to live a life without Him is senseless and fruitless.<\/p>\n
Genesis 2:7 (NKJV) 7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.<\/p>\n
But with <\/i>Him our lives become new and meaningful and in <\/i>Him we can do everything!<\/p>\n
John 15:5 (NKJV) 5 \u201cI am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing<\/span>.<\/p>\n So let’s let God change our perspective and see things through His <\/i>eyes and with His <\/i>mind and His <\/i>purpose.
