I have a saying that I like to use when it comes to people who gossip, and it goes like this: If someone will talk to you about someone else, they will surely talk to someone else about you.<\/p>\n
Gossip is a sin. God\u2019s word says so.<\/p>\n
Have you ever known someone who seemed to thrive on talking about other people all the time? Some people are so bad that they never even admit to their own faults because they\u2019re so busy talking about the supposed faults of others.<\/p>\n
Many of us engage in gossip every single day and don\u2019t give it a second thought. But let me tell you something; not only is gossip a sin, but it can also be very damaging to the person or people you\u2019re gossiping about.<\/p>\n
Gossip is not a small matter. It\u2019s very major. If we are gossiping, we need to stop. If we are listening to someone else gossip, we need to change the subject or simply stop listening.<\/p>\n
If we have gossiped it doesn\u2019t mean that we\u2019re eternally condemned and there is no hope for us, but we need to change our ways and ask God to break this terrible sin in our lives.<\/p>\n
He will do it if we let Him. All we need to do is ask Him to forgive us and then make an honest effort to stop. If we\u2019re sincere about stopping, we will stop.<\/p>\n
Check yourself over this weekend and see how many times you catch yourself either spreading gossip or listening to gossip. And then do something about it.<\/p>\n
Be blessed in all you do and seek God in everything.<\/p>\n
