Luke 12:6 (NKJV) 6 \u201cAre not five sparrows sold for two copper coins?\u00a0And not one of them is forgotten before God<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In March of this year my Dad had to go in for heart surgery. He was 80 years old. Being the age that he was made me realize that this could possibly be it for him. He has always been a very strong man. He had\u00a0never been hospitalized his entire life. This was a big thing for our family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The day came and my Dad was taken in for the surgery. As we sat in the waiting area, we heard\u00a0a call for\u00a0code blue\u00a0come over the intercom. It was my Dad. My heart sank, and I was beyond knowing what to do or say. But deep within me I had this strength and a peace that kept me calm. It held me up. I knew God was in control, no matter what the outcome was.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He made it through that surgery and began to recover, only to find out that he needed two more surgeries, back to back. They had found cancer in his body, and his carotid artery was 99% clogged. For the natural mind, it was more than I could handle.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It was a trying time for our family. But one of the things that helped us the most was being together. No fighting, no bickering, no arguing, no criticizing;\u00a0just simply being there, holding on to each other and our faith in Almighty God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

As we celebrated his 81st birthday today, he\u00a0opened his gifts and\u00a0played\u00a0a CD, listening to\u00a0the\u00a0song\u00a0“His eye is on the Sparrow.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

God watches over us.\u00a0Rest in Him today.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
