Matthew 6:24 (NKJV) 24 \u201cNo one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

What is mammon?<\/p>\n

The Webster Dictionary explains it as\u00a0material wealth or possessions, especially as having a debasing influence.<\/p>\n

Debase means\u00a0– to lower the value or reputation of (someone or something): to make (someone or something) less respected.<\/p>\n

Does our wealth or possessions cause us to have a debasing influence on others? Do we think we are better than others because of our mammon, our wealth or our\u00a0possessions? Do we look down on someone that has less than us?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Have we ever heard this phrase when someone tries to bless a person and buy them something,\u00a0“your\u00a0money is no good here, put it away”?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Many people laugh when someone says it,\u00a0but really it is\u00a0a slap in the face to the one\u00a0that sincerely\u00a0wants to do something nice for them and it is NOT\u00a0received.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Pay attention to this kind of behavior, because this is the beginning of\u00a0serving our mammon. In other words what we are thinking\u00a0is that NOTHING is as good as\u00a0our<\/em><\/strong> mammon.<\/p>\n

Don’t ever let things, money or success cause us to look down at others or refuse the help or blessings of others, etc. in our lives. Receive them humbly and thankfully, no matter how much we have.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Galatians 3:28 (NKJV) 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.<\/p>\n

We are all one in Christ, no matter what we possess in this world. \u00a0We are all equal in God’s eyes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
