Matthew 11:28(NKJV) 28\u00a0Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Are we looking for change today? Do we really want to let go of the old us, the old habits,\u00a0routines and ways that we do things?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The first thing\u00a0we have to do is admit to\u00a0those things\u00a0we do that are wrong, our sins. If we can’t see them or admit to them\u00a0as being wrong or as being sin, we will never get free from them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We\u00a0have run across many people and situations where they\u00a0or someone in their family is\u00a0struggling with addictions.<\/p>\n

Some are struggling with illegal drugs, pills,\u00a0alcohol, lust, lying\u00a0or stealing, etc.<\/p>\n

If\u00a0they can’t\u00a0admit or see\u00a0that\u00a0what\u00a0they are doing is wrong or that they are\u00a0addicted to it, guess what will happen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

They will continue in them. They will\u00a0live that\u00a0lifestyle\u00a0and\u00a0it\u00a0will run their lives. It will determine their\u00a0outcome and destination in their life.<\/span><\/p>\n

They are\u00a0stuck in a\u00a0vicious\u00a0cycle\u00a0by their\u00a0own thought process toward the sin\u00a0in their life, and\u00a0they will\u00a0simply\u00a0make excuses for it.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We can’t help someone in that state.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

I know a person who is addicted to\u00a0alcohol. I was visiting them in the hospital one day. The doctor said,\u00a0“so you’ve been drinking again?” The person\u00a0said, “I just had\u00a0one”.<\/p>\n

It was like he thought he was doing\u00a0good by just having one, even though\u00a0he has been told numerous times that\u00a0more\u00a0alcohol\u00a0will kill him because of their many years of drinking, and the\u00a0condition of their\u00a0liver.<\/p>\n

Then he continued on and said, “I was out working in the garden and I got thirsty, there was no water around, so I had one drink.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The doctor\u00a0replied, “you will always\u00a0make any excuse for it.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

You see, he immediately protected that\u00a0very\u00a0sin\u00a0that is destroying him. It’s literally killing him. So why did he protect it?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Because he likes the feeling he gets from it;\u00a0the “comfort” it brings him.\u00a0It has become his way to get relief from\u00a0whatever he is going through.\u00a0But at the same time,\u00a0he’s in the hospital dealing with the repercussions\u00a0from it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The comfort he\u00a0receives\u00a0from it\u00a0is a\u00a0FALSE\u00a0comfort. It’s not\u00a0true comfort\u00a0that God has for him. And it will not bring freedom, only\u00a0captivity. It will keep him\u00a0caged up\u00a0and he will be a slave to it. It will\u00a0eventually\u00a0destroy him\u00a0if he does not see it or admit it and make the changes he needs to make.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

There is someone out there today who is reading this, and God is saying to you, “make the change now”. “Make the\u00a0shift. Admit what you are doing and come to Me for deliverance. I will bring you true and lasting\u00a0comfort and rest.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Dear God,<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

I have made excuses for my sin and I admit today that I have been living this life that is not right.\u00a0I come to you with a humble heart and ask You\u00a0for forgiveness.\u00a0I am truly sorry and I want\u00a0to get help.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

I ask, in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, to deliver me and bring me true comfort and rest. Help me to know what to do at this time in my life, that I may get the help I need and\u00a0make the right choices, from\u00a0this day forward.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Thank you for loving me and forgiving\u00a0me.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In Jesus’ name I pray.\u00a0Amen<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n
