Philippians 2:3-4 (NKJV) 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.<\/p>\n
Selfishness. It’s something that we all wrestle with on one level or another. It’s always easier to think of ourselves than to put others first.<\/p>\n
But Jesus was the epitome of being selfless<\/b>. He put Himself after<\/i> everyone, to the point of dying for us all. And not only did He die for us, but He died the cruelest of deaths on a Roman cross.<\/p>\n
As followers of Christ, we should be emulating Jesus, following in His footsteps. Our lives should be using His <\/i>life as an example of selflessness. We should make an extra effort to put others first, even when it’s not convenient for us.<\/p>\n
Because, let’s face it, putting ourselves first is always easier and more convenient.<\/p>\n
And as we follow His example, we will shine His light and show His love to others. This<\/i> is how we show who God is. This<\/i> is how hearts and lives are changed, when they see God in us.<\/p>\n
