James 1:6-8 (NKJV) 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

A double-minded man is someone that has faith sometimes and then others times has no faith at all.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

A double-minded man is\u00a0drawn in two opposite directions, thinking sometimes\u00a0God will help him and other times He won’t, leaving this type of man\u00a0to feel lonely and hopeless at times in his life.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Double minded people want to be able to\u00a0see things and figure things\u00a0out on their own. They only have faith when it makes sense to their heads. So when they can’t figure it out, they think it’s over and they are done.\u00a0That’s not true faith.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Such a person is unstable in all his ways, not only in his prayer life, but in every part of his walk. His lack of\u00a0consistency\u00a0in faith will cause him to be confused and\u00a0not know what steps to take at times.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

How do we get past this? How do we become a sound-minded man?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We take all that we know, all that we learned over the years and\u00a0throughout\u00a0our lives, and we\u00a0surrender\u00a0it to God. We give Him a place in us\u00a0to help\u00a0take what we have learned and show us exactly the correct way of looking at it all, bringing balance, correction and instruction.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

James 4:10 (NKJV) 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

There is pride working in a double-minded man. They have\u00a0not fully surrendered it all to God.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

You see, we think that God only wants to help us when we are in trouble. We think that He is only there for us for big problems or things we can’t control on our own.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But in reality, God is here for us every minute and every second of our lives.<\/p>\n

We have to learn to share our life with Him. Let Him stop us in our tracks if we need it and show us something DIFFERENT,\u00a0something\u00a0NEW.\u00a0Something we didn’t think of or already know.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Stay steady\u00a0in the faith, always looking to God for His answer, even if we think we’ve got this one.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
