Nehemiah 8:10 (NKJV) 10 Then he said to them, \u201cGo your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We need to protect our joy; The JOY that God Himself gives to each one of us. The JOY of the LORD!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We’ve got to keep it and not let go of it.\u00a0The enemy knows how powerful it is to walk in the joy of the Lord and he will fight to take it from us. He understands what\u00a0joy does to people that walk in it, that talk in it, that carry it wherever\u00a0they go. He knows it demolishes and ruins what he tries to do to our emotions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We need to understand that he is after it and will take it the first chance he gets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The JOY of the Lord\u00a0is our very strength. So if we lose our STRENGTH, what does that make us? Weak and tired!<\/p>\n

What happens when we are weak and tired?\u00a0We simply\u00a0mess up. We say and do things that we know we shouldn’t. We let things go that we should be taking care of. We slack off.\u00a0Why? Because we get caught up in sorrow and\u00a0depression. Sometimes we might even have ourselves a good old pity party.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But it doesn’t have to stay that way!<\/p>\n

If we’ve lost the joy of the Lord today, we need to make a move. We need to go find it\u00a0and\u00a0bring it back into our lives. We need to get it back into our home, into our\u00a0workplace, and into our church.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Dear God in Heaven,<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Forgive me today for losing the joy which you have\u00a0blessed me with.\u00a0I am truly sorry. I want your joy\u00a0back in my life, in my family, and in my relationship with you. I have been walking around with my head hanging down, giving\u00a0NO place in my heart for joy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

People may say it’s because of what I’ve been through in life, but I know that it is no excuse for how I have been acting. It’s gone on for too long, and today I want to change and stop this feeling of sadness and doom and gloom, and thinking that I’ve gotten the short end of the stick.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

I ask you to take my sorrow, depression and\u00a0heaviness\u00a0away from me\u00a0this very day. And in return, fill that empty spot with Your\u00a0joy,\u00a0in the mighty, precious name of Your Son, Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Thank YOU Lord,\u00a0and I know that I will walk in your\u00a0strength, for today is a NEW day. Amen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
