Proverbs 8:32 (NKJV) 32 \u201cNow therefore, listen to me, my children, For blessed are those who keep my ways.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

How do we hear God’s voice? This is a question that we get asked a lot.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

God is God and He speaks to us in many different ways.\u00a0We don’t know\u00a0exactly how He will speak to you. But, we can<\/em> say that He will\u00a0communicate with\u00a0you<\/em> in a way that works for you. He is faithful!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Developing a relationship with Him is the main thing that helps us understand God when He speaks to us or prompts us. If we don’t know Him, it will be hard for us\u00a0to discern if it is truly Him speaking or not.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The first things to do is learn about Him. The only way to do this is through reading His word.\u00a0We learn\u00a0His personality, His likes and dislikes, etc.\u00a0Everything about Him is in there.<\/p>\n

As we read the scriptures,\u00a0communication with Him begins. We become one with Him as we open up and\u00a0let His Words penetrate and change\u00a0our heart.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It takes time, and even some trial and error on our end. But don’t give up. Keep going to Him and keep trying. We can even learn\u00a0from our mistakes if we miss what God was saying to us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Praying\u00a0plays a big part in hearing God’s voice as well. We don’t have to spend hours doing this. Start by going to Him for small things that maybe we’re not sure about. Ask Him for His advice and what He wants us to do even in the small things. He loves to be included.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

I’m amazed that even those small things that seem insignificant to us, He will take the time and help us through them.<\/p>\n

And when we pray, we need to be sure we’re doing as much listening as we are talking. Many times we make the mistake of thinking that praying is only about us<\/em> telling God what we<\/em> want. We can fail to take the time to listen after we’re finished making our requests. And this is a big mistake.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It’s never too late to start\u00a0learning God’s voice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If you are involved in something today and you’re feeling like something’s\u00a0not quite right,\u00a0stop what you’re doing.\u00a0Pull back and go to God.\u00a0Ask Him to help you.<\/p>\n

He will meet you there.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
