John 6:26-27 (NKJV) 26 Jesus answered them and said, \u201cMost assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. 27<\/span> Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Many people pursued Jesus when He was here on earth because they knew He would give them something. In these verses, He had given them food to eat. Others pursued Him because they had seen Him perform signs and wonders.<\/p>\n

Why do we<\/i> pursue Jesus?<\/p>\n

Is it because we want a miracle? Is it because we want material things? Is it because we want blessings of some kind?<\/p>\n

Or do we pursue Him because we want to know Him, and build a lifelong, lasting relationship with Him that changes who we are and why we live?<\/p>\n

Now, let’s not get confused and think that it’s wrong to want to see miracles. Let’s not think that it’s wrong to ask things of God. He wants<\/i> us to ask.<\/p>\n

Matthew 7:7 (NKJV) 7 \u201cAsk, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you<\/span>.<\/p>\n

But when the asking becomes our primary or our only focus, then<\/i> we need to make some adjustments.<\/p>\n

We need to put the relationship first, and the requests second. And when we get that <\/i>right, then many other things in our lives\u00a0will come into order.<\/p>\n
