Ecclesiastes 3:7 (NKJV) 7 A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

People who don’t have a problem with speaking up sometimes struggle with “a time to keep silence”.<\/p>\n

They have to work on this one, and sometimes it may be very hard for them to keep silent. They may find themselves opening their mouths and inserting their foot many times, wishing they had just kept quiet. And then they have to deal with trying to fix or clean up the mess that it may have caused.<\/p>\n

Sometimes opening our mouths at the wrong time, even though we feel like we have good reason to do so, can cause\u00a0more damage\u00a0than\u00a0good.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Remember; there\u00a0is a time to keep silent.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

People who don’t like\u00a0controversy\u00a0may\u00a0have a problem with “a time to speak”.<\/p>\n

They are always\u00a0trying\u00a0to make sure that they don’t speak out or cause problems in any way, etc. They are always waiting to say what they need to say,\u00a0thinking it’s not a good\u00a0time because it may cause problems or someone might get upset.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Sometimes not speaking up when we should can cause more damage\u00a0than\u00a0good.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

So we can see that we have to have balance in this.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

How do we know when to\u00a0speak\u00a0up and when to keep silent?\u00a0This comes with learning to have control over our emotions and our fears. These two things will either make us speak when we should be silent or be silent when we need to say\u00a0something.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Ask God for help in speaking in His timing, and that we will not speak from emotions or fear, but that when we speak it will help the situation and bring healing to all those involved.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
