Luke 15:11-13 (NLT) 11 To illustrate the point further, Jesus told them this story: \u201cA man had two sons. 12 The younger son told his father, \u2018I want my share of your estate now before you die.\u2019 So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons. 13 \u201cA few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In the story above, the young man receives an\u00a0inheritance from his father\u00a0and he\u00a0leaves with it soon after.<\/p>\n

He takes his\u00a0inheritance\u00a0and does\u00a0whatever\u00a0he wants\u00a0with it.\u00a0Until\u00a0it’s\u00a0gone.\u00a0There was nothing left.<\/p>\n

He finds himself in a very bad situation and realized he did a dumb thing.\u00a0He repents and wants to return home,\u00a0remembering it was much better when he was home with his father. He wanted to make things\u00a0right.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Some would say “It’s too\u00a0late. You made your bed, now you have to lay in it. Oh well!”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Thank God He is merciful and loving, and gives us chances to make things\u00a0right. Amen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Luke 15:22-24 (NKJV) 22 \u201cBut the father said to his servants, \u2018Bring\u00a0out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.\u2019 And they began to be merry<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

His\u00a0father welcomed him back with open arms and celebrated his return. This doesn\u2019t\u00a0mean that we should just go and do whatever we want and think that there will be no consequences. There will always be some kind of consequences from our mistakes and poor choices. But it doesn’t mean that we can’t go back to where we left\u00a0off, where things were right, and try to\u00a0fix it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Have we acted like the prodigal son? Have we taken the blessings of God, His inheritance to us, and spent it on wild living, knowing that what we were doing was not right?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It’s not too late for us to go back and make it right. He will welcome us with open arms.\u00a0God wants to be with us. He wants us to acknowledge where we went wrong, and then repent and come home.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
