Isaiah 43:18-19 (NKJV) 18 \u201cDo not remember the former things,\u00a0Nor\u00a0consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing,\u00a0Now\u00a0it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness\u00a0And\u00a0rivers in the desert.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Are we so busy trying to hang on to the past that we are missing out on today? This is a question we have to ask ourselves every so often. Why? Because we will have times in our lives that will stand out greater\u00a0than\u00a0others and we will want those times to stick around and\u00a0stay forever. We want them to last.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But by\u00a0living in the past, we\u00a0stop\u00a0ourselves from moving forward. When we do this, we are only going to hurt\u00a0ourselves.\u00a0It\u00a0won’t bring anything\u00a0back to the way that\u00a0it was.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If we want to fix this problem, the first step we need to take is to recognize and accept the change that took place. Maybe it wasn’t a good change. Maybe it wasn’t necessarily something that should have happened. But, whatever\u00a0it was, we need to face the fact that it did happen and things are different than they were.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The second thing we will have to do is begin to live with it by making the necessary adjustments. Don’t try to keep things the same way. Don’t keep going over it in our minds, thinking that maybe if we did this or maybe if we did that it\u00a0could have changed things and the outcome would have been better. No. Just accept\u00a0it. It is what it is now and all of the thinking and wondering won’t make it go back to the way it was.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The third and last\u00a0thing is not to feel bad or guilty after the change, especially if we\u00a0are enjoying\u00a0our life. There is nothing wrong with enjoying our life, even after something has happened that may have caused us to be sad initially. Enjoying our life is a sure sign that we have moved on and adjusted well.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Let go of the past and move forward. There is so much more out there for each one of us if we will stop looking back and start looking forward.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
