Matthew 1:21 (NKJV) 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Notice in the verse above that it says, “His” people.<\/p>\n

Who are His people?\u00a0His people are all those who believe and trust in Him\u00a0as their Messiah. It’s sad, but not all people\u00a0will accept Him or His gift of salvation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Jesus\u00a0asked\u00a0Peter, “who\u00a0do you say that I am?”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Mark 8:29 (NKJV) 29 He said to them, \u201cBut who do you say that I am<\/span>?\u201d Peter answered and said to Him, \u201cYou are the Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n

This had been revealed to Peter by the Holy Spirit, not because of intellectual understanding or logic.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It is important that we don’t just know who Jesus is intellectually, by reading and studying about Him, but that we know Him personally.<\/p>\n

We do this by accepting the free gift of salvation, and then by listening for and following His direction and\u00a0correction in our life. We walk with Him daily, acknowledging that He is with us and understanding that He wants to be\u00a0a part\u00a0of what we do.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We might ask how. How do we have this personal relationship with Him? How is He with us?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

After Jesus left this earth,\u00a0His\u00a0Father\u00a0did\u00a0a wonderful thing for us all. He\u00a0sent\u00a0the Holy\u00a0Spirit, our Helper.\u00a0The Holy\u00a0Spirit knows all\u00a0things. But we have to be sensitive to\u00a0Him and give Him a place\u00a0within\u00a0us to live and to be free to move, in order for Him\u00a0to work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

John 14:26 (NKJV) 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He will remind us of the right things to do. He will help us with discipline and strength when we need it. He will give us the determination to stick with things when our flesh wants to give up.<\/p>\n

There is so much He will do to help us. Even in those seemingly small and insignificant situations that we get ourselves into, they are important to Him and He wants to help us sort them out.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The Holy Spirit\u00a0will help us have a\u00a0personal, one-on-one relationship with Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
