Mark 11:25 (NKJV) 25 \u201cAnd whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Are we holding\u00a0anything\u00a0in our hearts that needs to go?<\/p>\n

For instance, did someone mistreat us, abuse us physically or verbally? Have we been cheated on or looked down upon as never amounting to anything?\u00a0Have we been punished for something we did not do?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If we don’t forgive the person who has done these things, said these things or caused these things, we will not be\u00a0free in\u00a0our\u00a0own\u00a0hearts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Things that happen in life can harden our hearts\u00a0so badly that it can cause us to stop living. We stop having fun. We stop laughing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Unforgiveness\u00a0robs us of our joy\u00a0because we are bound to whatever it was\u00a0that hurt us. By not\u00a0forgiving\u00a0and\u00a0letting it go it has a hold, a grip on our hearts.<\/p>\n

The very act of forgiving someone brings freedom to us. Even\u00a0though we are setting them <\/em>free, we are getting free ourselves.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

That is why God does not ask <\/em>us to forgive,\u00a0but He tells\u00a0<\/em>us to.\u00a0Nothing we can tell Him will excuse our unforgiveness.<\/p>\n

We have to let what they did to us go, put it behind us and move on. We cannot make them pay us back by punishing them. We cannot keep bringing it up and reminding them of it. We cannot continue to be mad at them and hold a grudge until we think they have made it right.<\/p>\n

We don’t have to be best friends with them, or even be around them. But we have to forgive what they have done to us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It is not ours to deal with.\u00a0They will have to answer for themselves for\u00a0the things they have done. And we don’t need to know about it when it does happen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Set them free. Let go of\u00a0the bitterness and the\u00a0unforgiveness\u00a0that just causes us hardship, sadness and even sickness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Today is a new day. Enjoy your life.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
