Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV) 31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wait. It’s a word that none of us likes to hear!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We have become a world of people who never want to wait for anything. We want something, and we want it now.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Microwave ovens, drive-through windows at banks, restaurants and pharmacies means faster service. We have become accustomed to getting what we want, when we want it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But not with God. God wants us to learn to wait on Him. Not just for the sake of waiting, but so that He can prepare us for what He’s doing or going<\/i> to do.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We tend to make a lot of demands, even with God. We pray and ask Him for something. Or we might not even bother asking. Instead, we just tell Him or demand something of Him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And He replies with silence. Or so it might seem to us. Is He really silent, or is He telling us to wait?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s important for us to know and remember that if we aren’t hearing from God, we shouldn’t make any moves, except for whatever the last thing was that He told us to do. Otherwise, we simply need to wait on Him to show us what’s next.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s funny that the verse above says that those who wait on the Lord won’t grow weary and they won’t faint.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why? Because they won’t be wasting their time, efforts and energy pursuing things that God hasn’t told them to pursue. And they won’t be pursuing those things He has<\/i> told them to pursue using methods and means that He hasn’t given to them to use.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So, it pays to wait on God, no matter how hard it might seem to our impatient, spoiled flesh.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes our flesh just needs to be told to sit still… and wait.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
