Colossians 3:15 (NKJV) 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the peace of God?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes we can get confused about what God’s peace really is. Yet, the peace of God is very important to our lives as His followers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

God’s peace surpasses all understanding. That means that we can have peace and not even understand why.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Philippians 4:7 (NKJV) 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It also means that we can have His peace even though we might be in a situation that would normally cause us to be freaking out or fretting every second of the day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The world can seem like it’s falling apart, yet we have a peace that can’t be explained.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

God’s\u00a0peace\u00a0guards our heart and mind. It protects us from\u00a0becoming\u00a0completely frazzled by the things we face.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But\u00a0let’s\u00a0be very clear. God’s peace is not the same as having peace of mind.\u00a0God can give us peace of mind, but\u00a0His<\/i>\u00a0peace goes beyond peace of mind.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Peace of mind means that our mind has enough understanding to cause us to be at\u00a0ease. God’s peace is quite the opposite!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our human understanding can’t comprehend God’s peace. It doesn’t make sense to our minds. It isn’t logical.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But it’s 100% real!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So, how do we have God’s peace?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We draw near to Him. We press in and we\u00a0learn\u00a0of Him. We communicate with Him. We study His\u00a0word.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We\u00a0get so close to Him that we can hear His heartbeat. Just as the disciple who laid his head on the chest of Jesus, we need to be\u00a0that<\/i>\u00a0close to God.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So,\u00a0push\u00a0aside\u00a0the cares of this world and press toward Him. Do whatever it takes to reach Him. Make whatever effort it takes to push through the crowd, block out the noise and escape the busyness. And touch\u00a0the hem of His garment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It will be worth the effort when we feel His peace surround us.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
