Job 5:17 (NKJV) 17 \u201cBehold, happy is the man whom God corrects;\u00a0Therefore\u00a0do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

When God brings\u00a0correction,\u00a0we know it. The only time we don’t know what God is saying to us is\u00a0when we get\u00a0stubborn\u00a0and refuse\u00a0to listen.<\/p>\n

There are <\/em>times when we are not sure of the steps we need to take and\u00a0we just need more time for Him to unfold it. That’s different, and it’s\u00a0OK for us to take the time needed to get His direction and\u00a0understanding.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But sometimes we deliberately don’t hear or\u00a0receive God’s\u00a0correction. Because deep down we\u00a0know\u00a0it’s\u00a0going to cost us something or go against what we want <\/em>to be\u00a0doing. This\u00a0is called\u00a0having ears, but not hearing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Mark 8:18 (NKJV) 18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember<\/span>?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We\u00a0prefer\u00a0to be doing what we want to do. We\u00a0prefer\u00a0to be doing things\u00a0the\u00a0way we are\u00a0used\u00a0to doing them. And we\u00a0like it that way.<\/p>\n

We\u00a0ignore God’s promptings, words, and His reminders that come through the scriptures.<\/p>\n

Have we ever been in this place? It’s uncomfortable, frustrating and makes for a\u00a0miserable time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It’s not hard to know what we are doing when\u00a0we are ignoring God.\u00a0We\u00a0will\u00a0feel it, we will see it and we will know it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Our hearts will tell us something’s wrong. Our attitude changes. We get hard, prideful and arrogant. And sometimes we are nasty to those around us, those we work with, those we live with and those that we love.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Our hearts change when we ignore God’s correction. We become a different person. Kind of like a cold, hard stone.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But we don’t have to stay like that. We can come to God, repent and receive His correction at\u00a0any time. His correction will fix us back up and\u00a0help us to walk the path He has for us. And we will be blessed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n
