Luke 6:31 (NKJV) 31\u00a0And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If we want respect, we have to give it. It’s as simple as that.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

This\u00a0is\u00a0hard\u00a0to maintain when we are around those that drive us crazy.\u00a0But even in those moments when we don’t care for a particular person, their\u00a0actions, or their attitude, we can still do right by\u00a0showing respect, no matter how we feel.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We have to do good\u00a0by\u00a0everyone. We can’t just pick and choose who we want to do it for. We have to\u00a0remain respectful, even to those that get on our nerves, under our skin or\u00a0irritate us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

This doesn’t mean we have to be best buds\u00a0with them. There is a difference. It doesn’t mean we have to spend a lot of time around them. But, it does <\/em>mean that when we are around them, we need to\u00a0honestly be respectful.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

There are no ifs, ands or buts about it. If we want people to respect us, we need to show respect. That’s just how it works.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If we can’t do this with a sincere\u00a0heart then we need to check ourselves. God needs to have a little time with us and help us get to the bottom of it. It’s always fun getting to the bottom of something, because then there’s only one way left to go, and that’s up. We can begin to move forward again.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If God is speaking to our heart today,\u00a0know that it is for our own good. We need to respect others, no matter how they have treated us. They will have to answer for their actions, just as we will answer for ours. So, let’s treat others the way we want to be treated.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Dear God in Heaven,<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

I come to You with all sincerity in my heart, and I ask for Your help in learning how to respect others. Even those that have done me wrong, mistreated me and are just hard to deal with. Please help me Lord to understand why I need to\u00a0respect them.\u00a0I’m sorry if I have been functioning in a bad manner. Please forgive me. I want to make things right in my heart today with those people\u00a0that I have a hard time respecting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

I ask You to\u00a0help me, Lord, to get past this, and that my actions may be pleasing to\u00a0You.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Thank you. In Jesus’ name I ask. Amen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
