(Phil 2:4-8 NKJV)\u00a0 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. {5} Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, {6} who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, {7} but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. {8} And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.<\/p>\n
Selfish, self-centered, self-seeking, self-fulfilling; these words conjure up a lot in our minds when we think about them, don\u2019t they?<\/p>\n
And let\u2019s be honest with ourselves; when we think of these words, we typically think of others that we know, don\u2019t we?<\/p>\n
The fragile nature of life has really been hitting home with us lately. God has impressed on us how important it is for us to appreciate the life that we\u2019ve been blessed with. He wants us to make the most of it, each and every single day.<\/p>\n
Being self-centered is easy for most of us. It\u2019s almost second nature if we live by the flesh. If we live by God\u2019s spirit, though, being selfish will become more and more difficult to do.<\/p>\n
God wants us to consider others and see them as being important. We\u2019re put here to love God and be a light to this dying world.<\/p>\n
Take a few minutes today to ask God if your life is impacting anyone else around you in a positive way. Our lives should be a light to them without us having to preach to them or quote scriptures to them. It\u2019s not about how many Bible verses we quote on a daily basis, but what we say and do in everyday settings and situations that impacts them the most!<\/p>\n
It\u2019s up to us to love them and impact their lives with our own lives. God has equipped us for this!<\/p>\n
