Proverbs 4:25 (NKJV) 25 Let your eyes look straight ahead,\u00a0And\u00a0your eyelids look right before you.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Cleaning our plates of the things that are not <\/em>for us to do\u00a0helps us to focus on the things that are <\/em>for us to do. We have more oomph,\u00a0so to speak,\u00a0to do more and go further.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Helping others is important, to be sure. But we must remember to\u00a0listen to God, to know who <\/em>He wants us to help. We can’t just help everyone. We can only be stretched just so far.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Helping the\u00a0wrong person at the wrong time can cause a huge distraction, and it might even cause us to miss out on helping someone we were supposed <\/em>to help.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We need to stay\u00a0focused and learn\u00a0to\u00a0say that very little, very powerful word at times, when needed; “NO”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If we spend our time doing things that are not meant for us to be doing, we may actually be doing things that should be for someone else to do. And the person that should <\/em>be doing it is getting out of their responsibilities.<\/p>\n

So, even though it may look like we are helping, we may really be hurting or making the situation worse.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We don’t say that to discourage anyone from helping others. We say it so that we will be prayerful when we are asked, or when we feel the need to help.<\/p>\n

Sometimes we just know and we go. That’s fine, because everything in us is saying help. They need it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But those moments when we are not sure, we need to listen to what we\u00a0are feeling. Take the time needed and pray about it. God will guide us in the things He wants us to take on.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Stay focused.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
