Hebrews 4:15 (NKJV) 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Many times we think that we are on our own when it comes\u00a0to being\u00a0tempted\u00a0or tested, but that is simply not true.<\/p>\n

Our High Priest, Jesus Christ, was tempted in every way and He can sympathize with us. But He also\u00a0overcame\u00a0the temptation He was faced with\u00a0and He can help us\u00a0overcome\u00a0ours.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

How?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We must reach out to Him and ask Him for help. We must follow the steps that He gives us to take.<\/p>\n

A lot of times He will show us only one step at a time. Once we take the first step, the rest will follow. We\u00a0cannot\u00a0skip or miss steps when it comes to overcoming our weaknesses or temptation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Every step must be followed through.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If you are being tempted and you can’t seem to beat it, this is not uncommon. Trying to beat something on our own\u00a0that tempts us will cause us to\u00a0fail. We need <\/em><\/strong>Jesus and the help He has for us.<\/p>\n

He sent the Holy Spirit for us and we need to let Him do His job.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He will give us the\u00a0strength we need to say no to temptation. He will give us the wisdom and the courage to get out and away from certain situations in advance, so we don’t get caught up in it again.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

So remember, overcoming\u00a0temptation and weakness takes us going to Jesus and asking for His help, and then following His steps, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit working in us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

John 14:16 (NKJV) 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever<\/span>…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
