Mark 9:38-39 (NKJV) 38 Now John answered Him, saying, \u201cTeacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow us.\u201d 39 But Jesus said, \u201cDo not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As Christians, followers of Christ,\u00a0we can become\u00a0prejudice\u00a0in our own little ways if we are not careful.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

For instance, there\u00a0are times when we may think that if someone doesn’t go to the same church we go to, or if they’re not in\u00a0our group\u00a0or our denomination,\u00a0we have the right to snub them or disrespect\u00a0them.<\/p>\n

We\u00a0may even go so far as to think we need to teach them and show them how it’s done, our way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

These are things\u00a0to be very careful of\u00a0because, like the disciples, we can approach things in the wrong way. And our actions toward other\u00a0brothers and sisters in Christ can be rude, hurtful\u00a0and\u00a0out of line. We can get caught up in sectarianism.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

What is sectarianism? It’s excessive devotion\u00a0or\u00a0attachment\u00a0to\u00a0a particular sect or party, especially in religion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Today, ask God to help us to walk by His\u00a0Spirit. To love, listen and have discernment, not trying to figure things out by\u00a0intellect, and act out of line.<\/p>\n

Don’t let\u00a0our lack\u00a0of\u00a0knowledge of others be destructive towards them just because they’re not in our group or because they don’t think or act like us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

As God’s children, we need to\u00a0unify and come together by being respectful, kind and supportive of\u00a0each other. Jesus says to love one another.\u00a0 And not just in our hearts, but in our actions as well.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

John 13:34-35 (NKJV) 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
