Genesis 2:2 (NKJV) 2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If God Himself took a rest, then so must we also rest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Some of us never stop. We don’t know how to. We keep going and going. Even on our days off we are trying to be productive, making sure we get things done.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Work without rest is not good. Even though our minds\u00a0may feel better about what we\u00a0have accomplished,\u00a0our\u00a0physical bodies need rest.<\/p>\n

Sometimes we forget we are only human and not some kind of super hero. We need to take some time to smell the flowers, breathe the fresh air, look up at the sky,\u00a0sit outside and\u00a0listen to the birds, the ocean waves or just do something like walking, hiking, bike riding or fishing!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Take a\u00a0break. Go and do something where we\u00a0don’t have to think.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Life\u00a0and\u00a0its\u00a0demands can sometimes get\u00a0very\u00a0overwhelming. It’s\u00a0OK for us to\u00a0put on the brakes and say, “I need to have a few minutes, a few hours or maybe a few days to just sit.\u00a0No schedule, no work, and\u00a0no phone”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Do we do this? Or do we push through, exhaust ourselves\u00a0even further, ending up sick, cranky\u00a0and burned out?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Rest is important.\u00a0Our\u00a0health is\u00a0important to God. Go\u00a0and get some rest!\u00a0Amen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
