James 1:21 (NKJV) 21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

As frail human beings\u00a0we constantly battle our flesh and its desire to sin.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

God doesn’t expect us to be perfect and sinless. But He\u00a0does<\/em>\u00a0expect us to live by the Spirit and not by the flesh. It is only by His spirit that we can live in a way that’s pleasing to Him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And\u00a0if we truly want to\u00a0live<\/em>, and not just exist, we need to put to death the\u00a0deeds\u00a0of the body.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Romans 8:13 (NKJV) 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It’s not a battle that’s easily won.\u00a0And\u00a0if we try to win it by our own strength, we will fail every single time. But God has\u00a0not\u00a0called us to fight this battle and win it on our own. He has given us every tool and every weapon needed to fight and win!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We have His word, the sword. And we have His spirit, our helper. The important thing is that we utilize all of the tools that He has supplied us with, so we\u00a0don’t\u00a0just exist, but thrive in Him and live each day to its fullest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Does this mean that every day will be perfect? Far from it. We will have days when we\u00a0feel\u00a0like we have failed for the thousandth time, falling so short of the mark. And we will have days when we feel like we can’t take one more step, let alone fight another battle.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But if we let Him lead us and we count on\u00a0His<\/em>\u00a0strength, instead of our own, we will absolutely always be way ahead of where we would be if we tried to do it on our own.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

So, we want to\u00a0encourage\u00a0you today not to give up. Don’t grow weary in the battle. We have His promise that if we don’t give up, in due season we will reap a harvest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Galatians 6:9 (NKJV) 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
