Matthew 6:34 (NKJV) 34\u00a0Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Tomorrow. It\u2019s a strange thing for sure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Most of us live our lives looking forward to tomorrow. We plan for tomorrow. We save up for tomorrow. We worry about tomorrow.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But not a single one of us is even guaranteed that we will\u00a0have<\/em>\u00a0a\u00a0tomorrow.\u00a0So,\u00a0God wants us to learn to balance our tomorrows with our todays.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He wants us to learn to live in today, being thankful for the blessings we have, as we\u2019re looking toward tomorrow\u00a0expectantly, but without putting all of our hopes in tomorrow.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We live in the here and now. We wake each morning with a fresh day ahead of us. We literally don\u2019t know what each day will bring.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Oh, we may\u00a0think<\/em>\u00a0we know. But it\u2019s not really in our hands to determine the outcome as much as we think it is.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

James 4:13-14 (NKJV) 13 Come now, you who say, \u201cToday or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit\u201d; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

You see, sometimes things come along that we had no idea would happen. And if we\u2019re not careful, our whole world can come crashing down around us because our hopes were placed so strongly in tomorrow that we forgot to live today.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We forgot to be thankful. We forgot to learn how to be content. We forgot to put God first in everything that we do. And our tomorrow became our sole focal point.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

God wants us to change this up. He wants us to put our hope in Him, not in what we\u2019re looking forward to tomorrow. He wants us to be thankful and content with what He has blessed us with today.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Yes, we should be\u00a0diligent<\/em>\u00a0with what He has blessed us with. We should handle it carefully and endeavor to do with it what He shows us to do, including making sure we follow any strategies He has shown us to follow.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But these things should never cause us to be so focused on tomorrow that we\u2019re shattered when something comes along that changes what our tomorrow looks like.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

We can\u2019t control tomorrow, even though we sometimes like to think we can. Our\u00a0desire to control everything\u00a0has to surrender to our trust in God. Our controlling nature must bow to the spirit of God and let Him lead us.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

For people who like to be in charge (in control), this is usually a tough change. But it\u2019s a necessity if we want to grow and mature as believers and learn to walk by faith, and not\u00a0by sight.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

So, let\u2019s let God teach us how to stop worrying about tomorrow. Today has enough things to tend to. We can tend to tomorrow when tomorrow arrives.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
