Matthew 11:29 (NKJV) 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
How do we finally rest? We take on His yoke; His way of living.
We stop trying so hard to figure everything out with our limited understanding. Instead, we search and study His word for His answers.
His Word is what we need to live and breathe. There are instructions. There is correction, compassion, forgiveness, and rest when we walk in it.
Are you trying to do life on your own as a believer?
It’s exhausting, and it’s not possible to do if you want God’s peace and rest.
I know, because I wrestled with this one. There are days when I just collapse at the feet of Jesus and admit, “I cannot fix this stuff without You.”
I find that in those moments, when I finally reach this point and cry out for His understanding, His way of doing it, that’s when I finally get rest and peace.
Because now the weight of the situation is no longer resting all on my shoulders, but it has transferred onto Him. I’m able and ready to listen and learn His way.
Proverbs 3:5 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
The words “I’m done” can really open the door for His rest.
Breathe a sigh of relief today, as we take on His yoke, His way of life.
God help us to walk out this life learning from You.
